Microscope Maintenance Training for Biomed Teams

We train your biomed team to handle routine microscope care on your own equipment, in two or five days, and stay on as your specialist for repair, alignment, and anything beyond routine.

More hospitals are stretching microscope PM intervals or moving routine maintenance in-house to control costs. That works well when the people doing the work know microscopes. Our training gives your biomedical or clinical engineering team the hands-on skills to care for your scopes between specialist visits, and a clear, documented line between what is safe to do in-house and when to call us.

The idea is simple: we teach your team the routine work, and we keep the specialist work.

Two programs

2-Day Essential Skills10 hours over two days. Cleaning, lubrication, bulb replacement, spotting problems early, and documenting PM. A fast, practical lift for routine care. Includes 30 days of email support.
5-Day Intensive30 hours over five days, and it can be split across two weeks. Everything in the 2-Day, plus Köhler setup, alignment and calibration verification, and full troubleshooting. Built for teams taking over PM on a large fleet. Includes 90 days of email and phone support.

Every program includes

Your own microscopesTraining happens on site, on the scopes your team actually supports, not generic demo units. Every participant completes a full PM under supervision.
Printed manualsA binder for each participant with step-by-step procedures, PM checklists, and troubleshooting tables to keep at the bench.
Certificate of completionA certificate for each participant, ready for training records and competency files.
A cleaning kit to keepEach participant leaves with a microscope cleaning kit, so the right supplies are on hand from day one.
Support after trainingQuestions answered by the instructor during the support period, so nothing gets guessed at.
A clear lineYour team learns exactly what is routine and what needs a specialist, which protects your instruments and their warranties.

Specialty instrument modules

If your team also supports specialty instruments, add a three-hour hands-on module on your own instruments of that type. Modules are available for Hoffman, DIC, and IVF workstations; PCM and PLM microscopes for asbestos and industrial hygiene labs; petrographic and polarizing microscopes; slit lamps; colposcopes; dental operating microscopes; and digital microscopes. Each module adds a printed supplement and a specialty certificate for each participant.

Who it is for

Hospital biomedical and clinical engineering departments, pathology and clinical labs with a biomed team down the hall, hospitals moving microscope PM in-house or extending PM intervals, small labs and clinics with one or two biomeds, and universities and teaching labs with large student fleets.

How it works

STEP 1

A short call about your team size and your microscopes.

STEP 2

We recommend a program and send a proposal for your facility.

STEP 3

We set dates that fit your team's workload.

STEP 4

Hands-on training on site, certificates on the last day.

Training pairs well with a service agreement. Your team handles routine care between visits, and we handle the yearly PM, repairs, and alignment. Agreement customers receive a discount on training. See how service agreements work.

Where we work

We train on site across Greater Houston, including Houston, the Texas Medical Center, Sugar Land, Katy, Cypress, The Woodlands, Pearland, Pasadena, Clear Lake, and Baytown. Training outside the Houston area is available by arrangement.

Common questions

What does biomed microscope training cover?

Routine microscope care: cleaning optics safely, lubrication, bulb replacement, inspection, spotting problems early, and documenting PM. The 5-Day program adds Köhler setup, alignment and calibration verification, and full troubleshooting.

Is the training done on our own microscopes?

Yes. Training is on site, on the microscopes your team supports, and every participant completes a full PM under supervision before the program ends.

How many people can attend?

From one person up to ten per session. Larger teams are split into two sessions.

Does the training cover alignment or calibration correction?

No. The 5-Day program teaches your team to verify alignment and calibration and to recognize when correction is needed. Correction, repairs that require disassembly, and other specialist work stay with us.

Is this a certification?

Each participant receives a certificate of completion for training and competency records. It is not a manufacturer or state certification.

Will in-house maintenance void our warranty?

The training covers only routine work that is safe to do in-house. Anything that could affect a warranty stays with a specialist.

Can we split the 5-Day program?

Yes. The 5-Day Intensive can be split across two weeks so your team is not away from regular work for a full week.

How is training priced?

By program and number of participants, quoted for your facility. Contact us with your team size and microscope count for a proposal.

Tell us your team size and roughly how many microscopes you support, and we'll recommend a program and send a proposal for your facility.
